The Rev. Victor E. Makari, PhD, currently serves as international/regional consultant for the “Religion and State – Middle East” program of DIYAR Consortium, an outreach continuing education organization of Dar al-Kalima University College, based in Bethlehem. Additionally, he is appointed as Presbyterian Church (USA) regional liaison for ecumenical and interfaith relations in Israel, Palestine and Jordan. Born and educated in Egypt, he holds postgraduate degrees in Christian Theology from three Presbyterian seminaries in the United States and a doctorate in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia. In addition to practicing pastoral and educational parish ministry for 25 years, and concurrently teaching as visiting lecturer at university level, Victor’s career included 20+ years as area executive for Presbyterian Church relations in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and Europe.
